Jacquan Rich is a 2016 graduate of the Academy for College and Career Exploration with a very strong background of community service. He holds a 3.2 GPA. He will attend Morgan State University, where he will major in Psychology/Political Science. He plans to pursue a law degree in the future.
Erica Thompson is a 2016 graduate of Baltimore Polytechnic Institute with a GPA of 3.2. She will attend the University of Maryland College Park where she will double major in Math and Kinesiology.
Mariah Armstead is a 2016 graduate of the Institute of Notre Dame with a GPA of 3.0. She will attend Salisbury State University and plans to major in English, which she loves and intends to use in her service to others.
Donnelle Lee is a 2016 graduate of Paul Lawrence Dunbar high School with a GPA of 3.8. He plans to attend either the University of Maryland College Park or Eastern Shore where he will major in Computer Science.
Janae Jeter is a 2016 graduate of Mergenthaler Vocational High School with a GPA of 4.0. She plans to attend Stevenson University and major in Criminal Justice.
The Rising Star Scholarship Program was launched in 2009 as the result of a partnership between Resident Services, Inc., (RSI) and the Resident Advisory Board (RAB). Need and merit-based scholarships are provided to students who have been accepted to accredited higher learning institutions. The program is designed to encourage academic excellence and to foster leadership potential in young people. The program provides financing to the selected colleges of the scholarship recipients, which enables them to attain their academic goals.
